SPUR Webinar: Instead of Paving Paradise, Can We Share It?

SPUR Webinar: Instead of Paving Paradise, Can We Share It?

I recently joined an exciting panel discussion about shared parking policies with SPUR, an independent organization working to address urban issues in the Bay Area. Read more about the discussion below and watch the webinar here.

The Bay Area has fields of parking – enough, according to the recent Bay Area Parking Census, to wrap around the earth twice! Many parking spots in private lots and garages are empty at predictable times of the day or week. Even so, many new developments continue to include abundant parking, which increases housing and other building costs, downgrades the pedestrian environment, and spurs driving and congestion. Can we find a way to make parking spaces shareable for different users? Join us to learn about recent changes and potential new rules, including a new state bill, that would do just that.
